This is the Windy Panda’s third season and then team has evolved into a team with three generations worth of Pandas. combining to bring a team with experience, technique and team spirit that will bring fear to most teams.
First stop of the charity circuit was the London Rotary, where the Pandas broke the curse of fourth place and finished in second place. A place in the final for the second year running at a sun scorching China Town Lions event saw the Pandas come fifth. At Kingston, the result was equalled to last year’s fourth position and finally, at the rain soaked spiritual home of Bewl Water, the Pandas managed a disappointing seventeenth place, breaking the tradition of reaching the final of every charity event.
However true to the team ethos, the season brought fun, laughter and panda spirit. Windy Pandas are now a recognised force on the charity circuit, a reputation based on consistent boat times and regular appearance in the finals.
What is certain is that what lies ahead, will be full of laughter, fun and friendship.
See you next season,
Captain Jez “Jokey-Jokemaker” Cheung
