The Definitive A – Z of the Windy Pandas – A

Written by Jez “Jokey-Jokemaker” Cheung

Here at the Pandas camp, the team have been busy compiling a list of A-Z must know words. This week, we are going to start with the letter A..

Aerodynamic Panda HatsĀ

Essential part of the Panda uniform and modern society fashion. This represents us symbolically and often scares the living daylights out of the opponents. No Pandas were harmed or tested to get hold of these hats.

Arms Straight

A crucial part of the Dragon Boating technique. You will often hear the call ‘Keep your arms straight!’ on the boat.

Act Natural

A phrase often used to in general photo shoots or when caught unaware by the paparazzi or by our devoted fans. It is the art of posing naturally, as if you didn’t know the camera was there. Pensive looks, pouts and seductive looks are encouraged.

Adrenaline

An adrenaline rush causes the muscles to perform respiration at an increased rate improving strength. This happens during a race and sometimes when collecting an award at the Pandas Awards.

Ache

A word often used to describe the state of a Panda after a training session. Often, the use of babyoil and sauna is encouraged to help relax the muscles post-training

Athletes

A word often used to describe the Windy’s. To maintain the athletic look, copious amounts of Dim Sum and KFC is required. Again, maintaining a healthy diet is essential here at the Panda camp.

Are you Ready?

A phrase heard at the start of every Dragon Boat race.

Awesome

A word used to describe many modest Pandas on the team. Here at the club, we do not like to boast our good looks, fine physic and superior technique. It is important to keep our feet on the ground. Awesome is also the nickname of G2’s Gigi Wong.

Amazing

Ambi Paddler

Short for ambidextrous. This is where we describe as someone who can paddle on the left and on the right.
