Writing about the spiritual birthplace is not easy when its one of the most important piece of sporting event since the history of mankind. Has time really gone that quickly and can you believe the panda team has been going for this long? These were the questions I asked myself when I began documenting about the course of events that happened that year.

In 2008, a group of forty friends went to Les Deux Alps for a snowboarding trip and that forty consisted of two groups of friends. One group were my friends, the other, a group mostly consisted of a Dragon Boat team called Typhoon Tigers. The holiday was very successful and we slowly but surely became friends on the trip. Upon returning to the UK, a few of my friends started taking up the sport and after watching them race at Chinatown Lions that year, I decided that it was a good opportunity to get my friends together and have some fun on the water. The Windy Pandas were born.
